The program has encompassed various interesting presentations, including the guidelines that will shape the future of the European single market, the situation of the agricultural sector in the European Union, and the role played by the Spanish sector in the world, in addition to the presentation of the Strategic Plan of Spanish Agri-Food Cooperatives 2025-2028.
Agri-Food Cooperatives in Castilla y León
The agri-food cooperative sector in Castilla y León holds great significance within the national cooperative sector. In fact, it is the third community with the highest turnover through the cooperative system, surpassing 3.960 million euros in the last fiscal year, employing over 4,000 individuals, and providing services to more than 35,000 farmer and livestock farmer partners.
At present, in Castilla y León, the Strategic Plan for Agri-Food Cooperatives 2024-2027 is being implemented, a document drafted by the Regional Government in collaboration with Urcacyl, which includes 44 measures with a budget of 23 million euros aimed at promoting the cooperative model as a formula for the development of the primary sector in the Community.
It is worth noting that, during the first year since its initiation, the Castilla y León Government has allocated 4.62 million euros to implement 15 out of the 17 measures that were dependent on the regional government, with only the assessment of the level of digitization of the cooperative sector remaining, which will enable the calling of grants for the design and implementation of digital transformation support plans.
