Tudanca will remain at the helm of the group’s spokesperson and the continuity of José Luis Vázquez in the Executive has not been assessed.
The PSOE of Castilla y León has appealed to the «far-sightedness» of the President of the Junta, the ‘popular’ Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, asking for a «certain and public» commitment that he will maintain a «facilitative» position regarding the changes that the socialists plan to propose in the Mesa of the Cortes. They have also warned that they will not engage in «any type of negotiation or accept perks» when proposing these adjustments to avoid losing representation in the highest body of the regional Parliament.
This was the request made on Wednesday by the Secretary of Organization of the PSOE of Castilla y León, Daniel de la Rosa, who spoke to the media after participating in the Plenary of the Autonomic Executive Commission (CEA) of the PSOE of Castilla y León, held before the meeting that the regional secretary of the PSOE, Carlos Martínez, will have this Friday with Mañueco.
«We want to appeal to the far-sightedness that should be presupposed to a president of the regional government and that he demonstrates that he understands that the same proportionality that we currently have within the Parliament based on the citizens’ mandate from the ballot boxes, should be present in the Mesa,» he emphasized concerning the socialists’ intention to remove Ana Sánchez and Diego Moreno from the parliamentary body.
In this way, it is considered that «the Popular Party should not have any problem respecting these rules of the game.» However, it has been noted that the socialists are approaching this issue with «all the caution and prudence in the world, given the circumstances following what happened, for example, in Valencia.»
With these «reservations,» the representative of the PSCyL has conveyed to the regional leader the «legitimate will» of the socialists to propose changes in the Mesa of the Cortes with «all the institutional normality that should be respected in any case» without losing said representation.
He particularly emphasized the «legitimacy» of the General Secretary of the PSOE of Castilla y León, Carlos Martínez, to form his own teams, something he has done within the party framework and wants to do within the parliamentary framework.
LEGITIMATE REPRESENTATION
«I trust, in quotes and with all the caution, that Mañueco respects the parliamentary majorities that the citizens of Castilla y León mandated at the ballot boxes and that he respects the proposal that the PSOE will present to him on Friday with a facilitating position that he must commit publicly to,» the socialist added.
In case otherwise, De la Rosa insisted that the PSCyL «will not force anything on the table,» as they will not «play the game» of the PP, Vox, or anyone else, and will maintain the representation that legitimately belongs to them based on the number of procurators in the Cortes.
OTHER PROPOSALS
De la Rosa also mentioned that in the meeting between Mañueco and Martínez, the socialist will bring his proposals on housing so that the Community has a comprehensive policy in this area, as well as in health, education, territorial planning, infrastructure, or issues being processed in the Cortes such as the Gender Violence Law, among other concerns of the people.
He emphasized that what Martínez will do on Friday is to talk about politics, «the politics of Castilla y León that concerns the people.»
SPOKESPERSONSHIP AND LEADERSHIP
During the press conference, De la Rosa also expressed his desire to always convey confidence that politics will pave the way from the «utmost responsibility,» and therefore, he is «confident» that the Popular Party will demonstrate the ability to rise to the occasion.
Among other issues, he also referred to the continuity of Luis Tudanca as the spokesperson «as long as he wants,» although he assured that no decision was planned to be made on this matter during the meeting held on Wednesday.
Regarding the situation of the procurator from Segovia, José Luis Vázquez, a member of the Executive as Secretary of Sustainable Development and present at Wednesday’s meeting, De la Rosa stated that he cannot «convey any position regarding this because his continuity has not been assessed before.»
