Department of Mobility and Digital Transformation
The Department of Mobility and Digital Transformation continues its free training offer in digital skills and launches an online MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) called ‘I am digitally competent: build your best digital version’, giving students the opportunity to boost their digital skills and knowledge.
This training activity is already underway and extends until June 18. The registration deadline is open until April 18 through the website
www.soycompetentedigital.es
.
One of the great incentives of this course is that it allows university students to have the modules of the course recognized as ECTS credits at public universities in Burgos and Valladolid. Additionally, any student who completes at least one module will be entered into a draw to win an IPhone 16E.
This free training provides the opportunity to enhance the resume and access better job opportunities by obtaining an official diploma from the Junta de Castilla y León, provided that the course is successfully completed. It is divided into five modules and offers the possibility of obtaining individual certification in each of them.
Content
The first module of the course, ‘Search and management of information and data’, helps in finding information on the Internet and managing it in cloud applications like Google Drive or OneDrive.
The second module, ‘Communication and collaboration’, explores how to use email effectively, tips to make the most of WhatsApp or Telegram, video conferencing tools, and social networks.
The third module, ‘Creation of digital content’, addresses the advanced use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF documents, cloud office (Office365, Google Drive), as well as editing and creating images and videos with free tools.
The fourth module, ‘Security’, introduces students to the main security risks on the Internet and teaches how to protect information and personal data.
The fifth and final module, ‘Problem-solving’, provides the opportunity to solve the main difficulties encountered in using technology in daily life.
CyL Digital Program
The CyL Digital Program is an initiative of the Junta de Castilla y León that offers free training in digital skills to the population, both in face-to-face mode – through the CyL Digital Spaces and associated centers in rural areas – and online, through the
CyL Digital program website
.
The CyL Digital Spaces of the Junta de Castilla y León are centers of digital skills in the provincial capitals where face-to-face training activities are conducted for citizens, providing support and technological advice and conducting certification tests of citizens’ digital skills. Currently, there are more than 121,000 registered face-to-face users and over 63,000 online users. Since its inception, the CyL Digital Program has conducted over 19,500 face-to-face activities and 2,800 online activities.
In rural areas, there are already 313 centers associated with the program, which are computer classrooms and telecenters managed by municipalities and associations with whom collaboration is carried out to provide training.
