The Strategic Tourism Plan of Valladolid 2024-2027 establishes, among its lines of action, the goal of «developing a comprehensive training and professionalization program for the local tourism sector». This objective will be realized in June with two preparatory meetings involving all sector stakeholders: entrepreneurs, unions, and workers.
The first meeting took place today with the presence of the Councilor for Tourism, Events, and City Branding, Blanca Jiménez, along with the manager of the Mixed Society, Juan Manuel Guimeráns, and representatives from various associations including the Provincial Association of Hotel Entrepreneurs of Valladolid, the Valladolid Hotel Association, Valladolid Fair, the Tourist Guide Association, the Association of Owners and Managers of Tourist Housing and Apartments in Valladolid, the Valladolid Association of Travel Agencies, and a representative from the wineries of the five Designations of Origin.
The second meeting will be held on June 24, with the Councilor Blanca Jiménez and city labor unions in attendance. On September 30, the Tourism Training Forum will define the action lines of the future Training and Professionalization Plan for the Tourism Sector, to be implemented in 2026 and 2027 based on surveys conducted with entrepreneurs, professionals, and workers in the Valladolid tourism sector.
It is worth noting that the training will be structured into three hierarchical levels: workers, middle managers, and executives and owners, ensuring that each professional profile receives the specific training necessary for their role.
This initiative is part of the agreement between the Mixed Society for Tourism Promotion and CEOE Valladolid.
