The Drawing category also includes awards for Secondary Education students, which have been awarded to students Mercedes García del Arco, from Tierras de Abadengo institute in Lumbrales (Salamanca) and Sara Aguado García-Luján, from María de Molina institute in Zamora.

The winning drawings in the Special Basic Education section were Nira Pérez López, from Camino de Santiago institute in Burgos, and Leonardo Jiménez Peral, from Santa Isabel center in Soria. On the other hand, students Alexandru Ochoa Bustillo, from San Nicolás de Bari center in León, and Dounia Rasmi, from Príncipe Don Juan center in Zamora, have won the two awards in Special Education Transition to Adult Life.

In the second category, focused on creating an avatar, the contest awards have gone to students Irina Eliseeva, from San Agustín school in Valladolid, and Nerea Ullán Bejarano, from Campo Charro school in Salamanca. In the case of the third category, for the creation of a music video based on the emergency service song ‘We are 1-1-2’, the award has been left vacant.

By provinces

The distribution of the twelve contest winners by provinces places Ávila in first place, with three awards, followed by Burgos, Salamanca, and Valladolid, with two awarded works each. Also, a student from León, Soria, and Zamora have been awarded in this edition.

Aside from the contest, the Civil Protection and Emergencies Agency wanted to acknowledge the video about 1-1-2 sent last November by the Bergidum Special Education Center in Ponferrada (León), as well as the drawings and letters dedicated to the 1-1-2 operators made by Primary school students from La Milagrosa and Santa Florentina in Valladolid, which they handed to them during their visit to the emergency center in March.

The Civil Protection and Emergencies Agency organizes the contest ‘What does 1-1-2 mean to you?’, which this year has reached its thirteenth edition, as part of the activities held every year on the occasion of the European 1-1-2 Day, celebrated on February 11.

The contest pursues two fundamental objectives, which are, on the one hand, to raise awareness among children and adolescents in the Community about the European emergency phone number and its operation, and on the other hand, to promote responsible use of the emergency number among them.
