The 58th Valladolid Book Fair will once again turn the Plaza Mayor into the heart of literature with a program that brings together prominent national and international figures, authors awarded in recent months, tributes to key figures, and a wide cultural offering for all audiences. The event, which will take place from May 30 to June 8, will have Peru as the guest country and more than a hundred activities spread across the Fair pavilion, the Círculo de Recreo, and other locations in the city.

The Peruvian Nobel laureate will be evoked in a roundtable discussion with authors like Santiago Roncagliolo, Carlos Granés, Juan Cruz, and María Ángeles Pérez López. The Fair will also pay tribute to two beloved figures of the local culture: writer and researcher Teresa Salvador, author of fundamental works on Valladolid’s popular tradition, and Jesús Anta, chronicler of Valladolid’s heritage. Both will be remembered in public events throughout the fair.

Additionally, the Bookstore Room of the Círculo will host presentations of the latest releases from the Guild of Editors of Castilla y León, the University of Valladolid, and other independent publishers.

The roundtable discussions will address key issues in contemporary literary creation: short narrative, Ibero-American poetry, dramaturgy, or historical essays. Authors like Gonzalo Calcedo, Alejandro Cuevas, José Ignacio García, Pilar Fraile, María Velasco, Carlos Aganzo, Luis Felipe Comendador, or David Pujante will participate.
Awards such as the Castilla y León Critics Award to Rubén Abella and Amaya Iglesias Serna will be presented, and editorial presentations of works like «Delibes, los pájaros y los niños» or «Íntima Atlántida. Vida de Rosa Chacel» by Anna Caballé will take place.

The children’s and youth programming is reinforced this year with a daily proposal designed for all age groups: illustration workshops with Los Compas and Las Princesas Rebeldes, baby stories, activities on science in classic tales, family theater, poetic recitals, and oral storytelling. Authors and creators like Nono Granero, Lupe Estévez, Unpuntocurioso, Marta Bermejo, or Luján Fernández will participate.
The «Palabras a la carta» project, led by poet Redry, will bring together young Valladolid poets who will compose verses live based on ideas from the audience. También se realizará la final del concurso de poesía #Desconfinados y el concierto matinal de Maref cerrará la jornada del último sábado.

Las casetas estarán abiertas al público de lunes a viernes de 11:30 a 14:00 y de 17:30 a 21:00 horas; los fines de semana, el horario matinal se extenderá hasta las 14:30 y el de la tarde hasta las 21:30 el viernes y sábado. El domingo 9 de junio, último día de la feria, cerrarán a las 20:30 horas después del homenaje final a las librerías de Valladolid.
