La Policía Nacional continues with the search for Alejandro Aranda, the young man from Alcalá de Moncayo (Zaragoza) who disappeared on Sunday, March 22 in Valladolid, and does not rule out any line of investigation.
The provincial chief commissioner, Francisco Oterino, met on Wednesday, April 2, with the superintendent of the Municipal Police of Valladolid, Julia González, and the head of the Fire Department, Javier Reinoso.
Also present at the meeting were the head of the Provincial Police Judicial Brigade and the head of the Provincial Citizen Security Brigade, as well as the head of the Police Judicial Section, and a member of the Homicide and Missing Persons Group conducting the investigation into the disappearance.
During this meeting, the state of the investigations carried out by the National Police was discussed with the aim of «joining efforts and resources» to verify «each and every» line of investigation.
In this regard, the National Police highlighted, in a statement collected by Europa Press, the «close collaboration» between the institutions involved, such as the Municipal Police, which is contributing its air resources to increase the search for the young man in hard-to-reach areas.
On the other hand, the Fire Department of Valladolid is providing its material and human resources to search river areas, which cannot be ruled out despite not being one of the main lines of investigation.
Thus, the National Police is conducting a thorough search from the moment they became aware of Alejandro Aranda’s disappearance and informing the family of the investigation lines.
All leads, whether through citizen collaboration or police actions, are being followed «as if they were positive,» although they have not yielded results so far, the statement noted.
It was also emphasized that the Homicide and Missing Persons Group, responsible for directing and coordinating the investigation, is focusing on finding evidence of the route taken by the young man.
Therefore, no call that could provide clues to the investigators is dismissed, and all calls are being verified in case they shed light on the case.
Similarly, all units on duty in the city receive constant reminders of the young man’s clothing and physical description from the CIMMAC 091 Room, and are dispatched to any location where the young man is believed to have been seen.
At the time of his disappearance, Alejandro Aranda was wearing a black jacket made of a leather-like material, black in color, and very loose — it appeared a couple of sizes too big — black sweatpants, and hiking boots above the ankle.
This, along with his tall stature of 1.88 meters, makes him stand out among people, as highlighted by the National Police, who remind that the numbers 091 for the National Police or 112 for Emergency Services in Castilla y León can be called in case of any leads or evidence related to the young man.
Alejandro Aranda, who worked as a guide for Imserso, arrived in Valladolid to accompany a group on one of their excursions. He checked into the Hotel Olid on the morning of Sunday, March 22, and in the afternoon, some witnesses said he seemed agitated, although he did not display aggressive behavior. That same night, he left the hotel and has not been seen since. His mobile phone was left in the room, and his suitcase was found on San Quirce Street, near the National Museum of Sculpture.
Alejandro’s circle has explained that he suffers from schizophrenia and may have stopped taking his medication. His family has requested that search efforts focus on natural areas, as Alejandro is a nature lover and could be in a rural or mountainous area.
