Castilla y León | Department of Industry, Commerce, and Employment

The I Congress of Industry of Castilla y León, which will take place at the Business Solutions Center in Arroyo de la Encomienda (Valladolid), aims to be a meeting point between the regional Administration and the various agents involved in industrial safety in Castilla y León, including installers, project managers, site managers, and control bodies, among others.

The main objective of the event, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, is to analyze, update, and give visibility to the important regulatory and surveillance work carried out by the regional Administration in industrial safety, aimed at preventing and limiting risks by protecting citizens and the environment from accidents and disasters.

The congress also aims to promote and support external agents to the administration whose daily work decisively influences safety, to encourage ongoing contact with the competent administration. With this forum, the Junta de Castilla y León reaffirms its commitment to industrial safety and the defense of citizens and the environment by promoting the technical competence of sector agents, and fostering greater collaboration between the public administration and professionals and companies.

In this sense, it should be noted that Castilla y León has extensive competencies in industrial safety, covering areas such as high and low voltage, establishments with hazardous substances, fire protection systems in industrial facilities, pressure equipment, gas installations, elevators, and vehicle technical inspections (ITV), among others. Given the breadth of this field, the congress will help technicians and other professionals to keep their knowledge up to date.

The congress program includes presentations by experts who will address important regulatory updates and current technical aspects. Topics to be analyzed include the new Regulation on fire safety in industrial establishments, the SEVESO Regulation on the risks of serious accidents with hazardous substances, the new Elevator Regulation, and the amendment to the Gas Installations Regulation. The Intelligent Network i-DE from Iberdrola will also be presented as a key element for a safer, more sustainable, and efficient electrical distribution.

Furthermore, during this event, the Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Employment, Leticia García, will hand out accreditation cards to public employees of the Junta who perform inspection tasks in industrial safety, metrology, and control of industrial products, among other responsibilities. This accreditation, regulated by Order of the Department, is a widely requested measure by these professionals and aims to facilitate inspection management and provide greater assurance to citizens.
