Castile and León | Department of Culture, Tourism, and Sports
The Department of Culture, Tourism, and Sports organizes a new Monument Opening Program as part of the promotional activities linked to Easter, with the participation of the dioceses of Castile and León.
From April 12, Passion Saturday, to April 21, Easter Monday and a holiday in various communities, a total of 317 monuments will remain open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for tourists and visitors, as a complement to the Easter events. In some cases, the opening of this heritage will focus on the most important days of Easter, from March 17 to 20, from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday.
In order to facilitate the visit, the open monuments have been grouped into 18 programs organized by geographical area or artistic theme, combining the Easter events with other associated tourist proposals, such as gastronomy, culture, or nature activities.
The programs for this edition are: ‘Mudéjar, South of the Duero’, ‘Southern Sierras’, ‘Gothic’, ‘Duero Valley’, ‘Northern Romanesque’, ‘Fields and Moors’, ‘Renaissance altarpieces east of León’, ‘Duero Arribes’, ‘Southern Romanesque’, ‘Northern Soria’, ‘World Heritage Cities’, ‘D.O. Toro’, ‘Baroque’, ‘Guadarrama and Ayllón Mountain Range’, ‘The French Way of Saint James’, ‘The Madrid Way’, ‘The Mozarabic-Sanabrés Way’, and ‘Zamora Romanesque’.
The Monument Opening Program is part of the promotional campaign ‘Easter in Castile and León. Unique’ organized by the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Sports, aimed at positioning the Easter tourism nationally and internationally in Castile and León.

Promotion of Monument Opening Easter
Among the promotional activities carried out by the Department to publicize the proposal of monuments open to tourism, the publication of a promotional brochure stands out, integrating all programs with a practical and manageable design that includes information about the open heritage and schedule details.
This material will be available at the tourist offices of Castile and León, tourist offices of cities and towns with open monuments, tourist boards, and the Dioceses of Castile and León.
Furthermore, information about the Monument Opening Program, with the option to download the promotional brochure, is available on the tourism website and is promoted through the social media channels of Tourism in Castile and León.
