It is about almost twenty public employment calls that encompass the same number of professional categories, in the four groups of labor personnel. The selection system for applicants will be through a competitive exam, with the holding of exams and a subsequent assessment of the candidates’ merits.

The Presidency Department has published in the Official Bulletin of Castilla y León 18 calls with a total of 392 new permanent labor positions for the General Administration of the Community of Castilla y León. Of these positions, 370 are called for open competition and 22 are reserved for people with disabilities.
As stated by the Presidency Councilor, Luis Miguel González Gago, «these calls are a new reflection of the regional government’s effort to continue improving the operation of the Administration, through the creation of more stable and quality public employment, which will also help to continue rejuvenating the professional staff of the Junta.»
In the scope of the General Administration, labor personnel include all professionals who perform technical, operational, or support tasks, unlike civil servants, who perform mainly administrative tasks. The professional categories of labor personnel are grouped into four different groups (from IV to I), based on the required level of education and job specialization.
Thus, within Group IV, 116 positions are called, among which stand out the 40 positions of forest and extinction laborers, so important to continue taking care of Castilla y León’s natural environment, or the 35 kitchen assistants, an essential figure for the daily operation of public centers such as nursing homes, schools, or hospitals.
In Group III, 125 positions are called, including, for example, 38 positions of command center operator, to coordinate and respond to any incidents affecting regional public services, or 34 driver positions, ensuring the safe and efficient mobility of medical teams or technical professionals working in the field.
Group II includes 102 positions, with 54 nursing positions that play an essential role in nursing homes, centers for people with disabilities, or educational institutions (unlike SACyL nurses, who work in healthcare centers). Also noteworthy are the 22 positions of IT Management Technician, which keep the digital infrastructure running smoothly, allowing the entire regional Administration to function normally.
Finally, the remaining 27 positions correspond to Group I, with 15 general physician positions, who will also carry out their important work in non-healthcare assistance centers, and 12 senior IT technician positions, essential for managing databases, enhancing cybersecurity in the Administration, or participating in the development of digital applications.
These 392 positions correspond to the 2024 Public Employment Offer, or, if applicable, to the respective Offers of 2022 and 2023 not yet called, as required by the Basic Statute of Civil Servants. The selection system for applicants will be through a competitive exam, as established by the Public Function Law of Castilla y León, with an eliminatory exam phase, and a subsequent assessment of the merits provided by the candidates: work experience, academic degrees, languages, etc. Interested individuals can submit their applications starting next Monday until June 13.
The Presidency Councilor, Luis Miguel González Gago, pointed out that «the work of these public employees is essential for the Junta to function every day, in every corner of the territory and in all the services we provide to citizens, making possible a close, efficient, and humane administration.»
It is worth mentioning that, in March, the draw was held to establish the order of action of the applicants participating in these selection processes to maintain the basic principle of objectivity in the development of the tests, as established by the Basic Statute of Civil Servants. In this draw, the letter ‘T’ was chosen. This means that, for the call to the exams, the reading of exams, or in the case that the selection processes include personal interviews or oral tests, applicants whose last name starts with the letter ‘T’ will act first, and will continue in alphabetical order until ‘Z’, after which it will move to ‘A’ until all letters are exhausted.
