The president of the Confederación Vallisoletana de Empresarios CEOE-CEPYME, Ángela de Miguel, will run for the presidency of CEPYME at the national level, a position currently held by Gerardo Cuerva, whose recent actions she does not agree with, including the delay in elections that should have already been called.
«I take this step forward with great enthusiasm, out of a sense of responsibility and personal commitment to Spanish SMEs. Spanish SMEs are an essential player in the national industrial fabric and are key to the economic and social development of our country. In a socio-economic and geopolitical context like the one we are facing, I believe that helping them boost their growth, competitiveness, innovation, and internationalization is a critical issue. In this situation, CEPYME plays a crucial role, so consensus and unity within the organization need to be strengthened,» explained De Miguel.
In this regard, the candidate has referred to the recent events in CEPYME: «I view with great concern, as a member of the Board of Directors, the actions being taken by the current president, both the failure to call elections despite the maximum deadline having passed, and the recent maneuvers to bypass the statutes and governing bodies of this organization, which have led us to a null vote to change the electoral regime without authority and at the last minute.»
Ángela de Miguel also emphasized that her experience, both as president of the Confederación Vallisoletana de Empresarios CEOE-CEPYME for over ten years, and as a businesswoman leading a SME, has given her the opportunity to deeply understand the situation and needs of small and medium-sized enterprises in the current context.
Additionally, through a statement reported by Europa Press, she announced that she informed the president of CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, who expressed his full confidence in her, and then also conveyed it to the governing bodies of CEOE-CEPYME in Valladolid and CEOE Castilla y León, of which she is vice president.

Additionally, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of CEOE since 2014 and belongs to the International Commission, the Equality Commission, the CSR Commission, and the Legal Commission.
At the helm of CEOE-CEPYME, she has led key initiatives to promote business development in the region, fostering competitiveness, entrepreneurship, and strengthening the productive fabric.
«During my tenure, I have focused my efforts on promoting the growth and competitiveness of local businesses, driving innovation, and supporting the digital transformation of SMEs. I have also played a crucial role in social dialogue between businesses, public administrations, and trade unions. My goal has been to represent the interests of entrepreneurs in Valladolid and ensure that their voice is heard in the formulation of economic and labor policies,» concluded Ángela de Miguel.
