Una treintena de voluntarios de Cruz Roja en dispositivo de San Juan

Thirty volunteers from the Red Cross will participate in the health care service for the Night of San Juan in the municipalities of Valladolid, La Cistérniga, and Medina de Rioseco, while the organization will also have a presence in Laguna de Duero.

In the capital city of Valladolid, in collaboration with the plan established by the City Council and the Security and Mobility Area, the Red Cross will intervene in the health care service at Playa de las Moreras, as reported by the organization in a statement collected by Europa Press.

This preventive service will start on Monday, June 23, at 7:00 p.m., to cover the planned activities during the evening and night, and will end around 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

The socio-sanitary coverage of the Red Cross will consist of three basic life support ambulances and a support vehicle, in addition to about twenty volunteer personnel from the rescue area, including medical and coordination staff.

Likewise, booths will be set up in the area as a nursing and coordination room, where medical care and the management of medical transfers will be carried out.

On the other hand, the Red Cross will also provide other preventive services during the Night of San Juan in the municipalities of La Cistérniga and Medina de Rioseco, for which a basic life support ambulance and the corresponding medical equipment will be available.

OWN SPACE IN LAGUNA DE DUERO

The organization will also be present at the Night of San Juan in the fairground of Laguna de Duero, where they will set up their Own Space, which aims to ensure a safe space for women in nighttime leisure contexts, promote attitudes of respect, and raise awareness and inform about gender violence.

The project, carried out by volunteers from Red Cross Youth, consists of an Information, Sensitization, and Prevention Space for attendees where, in addition to answering their questions, young people can become aware of the ways to guarantee gender equality in nighttime leisure spaces.

Preventive material such as coasters and contact cards that can be used in case of a possible assault or sexual harassment will be distributed in the sensitization and information tent. Likewise, attendees will learn about protocols of action in the event of a possible situation of assault or sexual harassment.

All the prevention and awareness activities proposed are aimed at both boys and girls, with the aim of making them aware of the behaviors that constitute an assault and providing them with tools to act.

Specifically, this action will take place from 9:00 p.m. on Monday until 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday with activities for raising awareness and preventing gender violence.
