The General Territorial Coordination Commission, chaired by the President’s advisor, Luis Miguel González Gago, met today with the aim of understanding and planning successive actions in two specific areas: the INFOCAL Plan, approved by the Castilla y León Government by Decree in March, and the promotion of the Carné 60.

In the first point, the Minister of Environment, Housing, and Land Planning, Juan Carlos Suárez-Quiñones, shared with the territorial delegates the details of the INFOCAL Plan, as well as the Annual Plan for the Prevention, Surveillance, and Extinguishing of Forest Fires for 2025 and the modifications in the structure and means of the Operative. The goal is to maximize its coordination and effectiveness, given the proximity of the start of the High Fire Risk Season, which begins on June 12.

On the other hand, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, Carlos Raúl de Pablos, agreed with the territorial delegates to hold meetings with associations of merchants and entrepreneurs in each of the provinces to promote collaboration between businesses, establishments, and companies with the Carné 60. This initiative by the Castilla y León Government offers discounts and benefits to people over 60 years old in various commercial, cultural, and sports establishments in the Community. Currently, more than 350,000 people in Castilla y León already have this card.

The General Territorial Coordination Commission is a body aimed at achieving the effective implementation of the Castilla y León Government’s actions. The regular meetings of this Commission help coordinate the public policies approved by the regional administration throughout the Community. The participation of the government’s representatives in the nine provinces is essential to achieve the optimal level of coordination of government actions, with the conviction that these representatives are the ones who best know the needs of the citizens due to their proximity to them.
